THE SOURCE
A not so very long time ago, I tried making sense of the Trinity, that is, the three in one God. I wanted to understand the dynamic of God’s relationship to man in the sense of the Trinity, and as God would have it I happened to read Good Morning Holy Spirit, a book by Benny Hinn and he made such a perfect explanation of it that it was easy for me to break it down to my level of understanding, and here it goes…

In my country, Nigeria, lack of power supply is a stress to most craftsmen that are engaged in any handwork, one minute there’s light and you’re working, and the next minute the power is out. You might learn later that something went wrong with the transformer which means there might be power outage for a long period of time unless the PHCN(Power Holding Company Nigeria) — I hope am right about the meaning of that because it’s been long they’ve been referred to as that, we simply call them NEPA which meaning I can’t recall right now, but stay with me, they really are not the issue here).

So as I was saying before digressing, there might be power outage for a long period of time unless the PHCN are contacted (which we really don’t like doing because they end up charging us an exorbitant amount of money).

And as time goes on you learn to cope with it or get yourself a generator to work with, which might cause a strain on your income because of the daily purchase of fuel, but then it can’t be helped because you need this power supply to get your work done and without it your work cannot come to fruition.

And here comes the explanation of the Trinity….

The Father is the PHCN, the restorer of light

The Son Jesus is the TRANSFORMER, the conduit in which the light comes to us

And the Holy Spirit is the POWER, the switch button that will put on the light.

This understanding made me realize that as humans(christians really), we would rather get ourselves a generator (anything that give us the representation of that light), no matter the strain it would put on us, we would rather pay through our nose in daily purchase of fuel than make a one time payment to the PHCN, and the funny thing is, His payment is not as costly to that of the generator, He only ask us to live right and submit to his will, but dang! That is so much a disturbance to how we want to live our lives so we say we would live our lives on our terms damning the consequences.

And I always wonder why can’t we choose to just get back to the source of light and stop improvising on buying fuel to our generator. Why?……
